I did not know the name of this game since I bought this box for the kids. It is fun to try to make these figures and believe me, they can be really tricky. Luckily there is a book with the solutions inside.
Aus der spontanen Idee und ganz viel Gruebelei wurde heute ein Mug Rug genaeht. Ein kleines Geburtstagsgeschenk nachtraeglich. Eigentlich wollte ich ihr den Tablerunner schenken, aber im Sommer kam irgendwie alles anders und so hab ich ihn ihrer Mutter geschenkt. Allerdings ist er nun doch am Wochenende bei ihr eingezogen. Die Mutter hat ihn ihr geschenkt :)
I had this idea to make a tangram some days ago and thought it might look nice on a mug rug. A nice present for a friends birthday. Actually I wanted to give her the pink table runner but because not all went as planed in summer I gave it to her Mum. But she is lucky an her Mum gave it to her as a present :) So now she has a table runner and I needed a new idea: a tangram mug rug!
Die Farben waren schon fuer sie ausgesucht gewesen. Immerhin weiss ich spaetestens seit London, dass sie pink mag (sie ist die einzige im Freundeskreis die auch einen pinken Laptop hat). So musste auch der kleine Mug Rug in pink gehalten werden. Kurzerhand wurder der erste Puenktchenstoff angeschnitten. Kombiniert hab ich ihn mit Kona snow. Ich finde die beiden passen super zusammen.
The color was easy to chose. First I thought I might take the left overs from the table runner but than I chose to use a more solid fabric and cut the pink dotty fabric I got in Austria. As I know she loves pink that might have been a good choice. I combined it with Kona snow and think this two get together quite nice.
Das Zusammensetzen war gar nicht so einfach. Nachdem ich endlich herausgefunden habe, wie die Teile einen Hund - ach ja, das soll ein Hund sein - bilden, musste ich ja auch einen Weg finden, die Teile auf Stoff zu bringen. So ganz passen die Dimensionen nicht und fuer das naechste Mal weiss ich dann schon besser, wie ich rechnen muss. Fuer den ersten Versuch gefaellt er mir ganz gut. Noch ein paar Stickereinen dazu und das Binding und fertig ist der Mug Rug :)
It was not so easy to find a way to sew all the parts together. After a couple of pictures and virtual cuts in my head I found my way to bring the dog - oh this should be a dog if you did not already see - on the white background. The dimensions are not the best and for the next one I know better how to calculate. Anyway I like this little guy and it is not so bad for the first try!
Ich hoffe, sie freut sich ueber das nachtraegliche Geschenk, das bald mit ganz liebevoll von den Kindern gemalten Karten auf Reise gehn wird. Nochmal alles liebe zum Geburtstag :)
